Entrepreneurial spirit in Ireland remains high

Already this year 4,843 individuals have become directors of an Irish company for the first time.

These individuals are, in part, responsible for the 3,371 new companies that have already been incorporated this year, up 7% on the same period in 2012.

Added to this we've also seen over 6,100 new businesses registered this year.

Of these new first time directors we can see that 61% are male with an average age of 42 years.

The average age of female first time director in Ireland this year is 41 years.

First time directors are not the only grouping that are showing their entrepreneurial spirit. Just over 3,600 existing directors of Irish companies have accepted new directorship positions so far this year.
