Start-ups in Ireland remain strong with an average of 45 companies being formed per day this September.

Our latest figures show that 839 companies have been set up in Ireland this month - this is an increase of 5% on the same period in 2012 (798).

If the final figure for company incorporations this month exceeds the total for the same period in 2012 it will maintain an impressive record for 2013.

Every month this year has seen more company incorporations than the corresponding month in 2012. To date this has resulted in 1,057 more companies being formed this year - an increase of approximately 11%.

The three most popular industries for company start-ups are professional services (25%), wholesale & retail (12%) and social & personal services (10%)
