Our latest CRIFVision-net data highlights a mixed but promising picture of the Irish economy, with entrepreneurial activity continuing to climb. Company registrations rose by 11% year-on-year in Q3 2025, setting the stage for a record-breaking year projected to surpass the previous peak in 2021.

Across the country, entrepreneurial appetite remains robust. Twenty-three counties saw growth in new company formations, with notable growth from Westmeath and Kildare (both up 26%), Meath and Limerick (19%), Cork (14%), and Dublin (6%). This broad regional uplift reflects rising business confidence well beyond Irelandâ¿¿s primary urban centres.

Sectoral performance was equally dynamic. Motor led with a 31% surge in new registrations, followed by IT (28%), Agriculture (23%), and Construction (20%) - a clear signal of strength across both emerging and traditional industries. In contrast, Mining and Real Estate experienced declines of 16% and 1% respectively, pointing to sector-specific headwinds.

With momentum building across regions and sectors, projections suggest 2025 will set a new all-time high for start-up activity, underscoring Ireland's dynamic and resilient business landscape.
