THE TYPE OF PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT ON THIS WEBSITE
The principle data collected directly from you is your email address if you wish to receive weekly updates from Business Barometer. We are collecting this information on the basis of your consent as the mailshotting tool that we use includes a pixel that allows us to establish which emails are opened. If you do not wish to have the pixel placed on your device(s), please do not sign-up for the service as it is an automatic part of doing so. You can 'unsubscribe' to the service at any time and will be reminded with each mailshot you receive. If you do unsubscribe, we will keep some limited data in order to ensure that your request continues to be observed and is not inadvertently revoked.
This email address will not be shared with any other organisation other than the service we use for mailshotting. We have a Data Processor Agreement in place with them and they have Standard Contractual Clauses with some of their processors as they have facilities outside the European Economic Area.
As is intrinsic to browsing the web, our servers will also collect certain data when you visit our site. The type of data acquired includes IP, the addresses of the resources requested in URI notation (Uniform Resource Identifier), the time the request was made, the site the user was referred from, the method used in making the request to the server, and other parameters related to the operating system and the computer environment of the user.
The site also asks you about the cookies you are willing to accept and in that way obtains your consent to having those placed in the browser you are using. These are explained in a separate notice found HERE.
WHY WE COLLECT THAT DATA AND WHAT WE DO WITH IT
We collect email addresses to send Business Barometers to interested parties every week. If you chose not to provide an email address, we regret that there is no other way in which we can send you weekly updates.
There is no use of automated decision-making, including profiling, in connection with the email address you provide.
HOW WE STORE YOUR DATA
The data is held until such time as you choose to request we should stop. This can be done by unsubscribing at the foot of each email or emailing email@example.com.
YOUR RIGHTS IN RESPECT OF YOUR DATA
You may also have rights to erasure (although we reserve the right to keep note of your request to avoid remailing you inadvertently), rectification, restriction, objection and portability. We will deal with your requests as promptly as possible.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission which they prefer is done by using this form: https://forms.dataprotection.ie/contact
